Heating Services Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Exactly what is a Moyer Heating Service Agreement?
    It's an agreement between you and Moyer Services enabling us to perform yearly maintenance and repair services to your oil heating system.

  2. What do you mean by maintenance and service?
    This means performing at least the minimum service required ensuring that your heating system's burner is functioning at its best possible efficiency, for the current state it is in. It also means cleaning your system and letting you know about any parts that may be wearing out.

  3. If a part is worn out or not working any more, what happens?
    That depends on the heating service contract you have chosen. With the basic cleaning and adjustment, we will let you know what's failing and tell you the cost to replace it. In our extended and comprehensive plans, most replacement parts are covered and will be replaced as a part of the terms of the agreement.

  4. When will you perform service?
    For customers with one of our service plans, we call to schedule your yearly service. This takes the hassle out of you remembering to have your heating system cleaned or checked.

  5. What do I do in an emergency?
    Call us and we'll help you out. Here's how we define an emergency: any condition that may be a cause of immediate or extreme personal inconvenience or harm to your family or dwelling. Heating service is available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. If you need emergency service after 5:00 PM, call us and one of our technicians will respond to your problem.

  6. Are there any exceptions?
    Yes, and it concerns parts. If there is a problem with a part that is not covered under your plan, we'll describe the situation to you and how much it will cost. If you agree, we will complete the service and you will be billed for the parts required and the time on the job at our prevailing rates.
