Student Entry Wins T-Shirt Design Contest
for Moyer 5K Race on July 8

Even though Souderton Area High School senior Dan Huber is more interested in accounting than art, it didn’t stop the savvy student from submitting the winning design in this year’s Moyer Indoor Outdoor 5K T-Shirt Design Contest.

“Dan is a new artist, unaware of his talent before discovering it in his first art class this year,” notes Bob Williamson, General Manager. “So we’re particularly pleased for this opportunity to recognize his emerging skill in graphic design. It may give him another avenue to consider as he begins his college education.” Dan heads to Bloomsburg University in the fall to pursue a degree in Accounting.

Dan received a $100 gift card along with the honor of having his design serve as the visual for this year’s Moyer Indoor Outdoor 5K Race, Kids’ Run & Fitness Walk, to be held July 8 at Souderton’s Community Park. The design, featuring “Moyer” and a runner in outline in the familiar Moyer blue, green and white colors, will be published on more than 600 t-shirts as well as online and in local newspapers. Proceeds from the race support the Moyer Indoor Outdoor Souderton Area Cross Country Scholarship and summer Concert Sundaes.

Williamson presented Dan’s award and Wawa gift certificates to each of the 32 participating students from Ms. Ginny Perry’s class on May 12.

This is the 15th year that Moyer has sponsored the 5K race for the community.
