Moyer Indoor Outdoor Announces
Cross Country Scholarship Recipients

Souderton, PA – June 16, 2009 – Moyer Indoor Outdoor announces the 2009 recipients of the Moyer Indoor Outdoor 5K Cross Country Scholarship. Kelsey Cameron and Donnie Noble, both students at Souderton Area High School were awarded on June 4th. This year both recipients qualified for state competition and look forward to participating in their college programs.

The Cross Country Team was invited by Moyer to Lisa’s Pizza for an end of the year celebration. Bob Williamson, General Manager for Moyer Indoor Outdoor, enjoyed dinner with the team and presented the company’s senior awards. Williamson said, “In the past we have given the awards at a ceremony, this year it was such a fun experience to get to know the students a bit better and enjoy their company.”

Kelsey Cameron is a four-year letter winner in both cross-country and track and is the only girl in Souderton History to compete at the state level in both. She is the Souderton record holder for the 800 meter and was a three time district finalist in the event. In fact she also holds the most records of any runner in the schools’ history. Cameron holds four relay records in outdoor spring track and seven different records in cross-country. She will go on to study Nursing and compete in the cross-country team at Misericordia University in the fall.

The boys’ cross-country winner is Donnie Noble, 2nd place winner in the SOL Championships in the 3,200 meter event. He holds the fastest time on the Souderton School Lane Course, breaking the record at the last home meet where he qualified for states. Noble said, “High School took me by surprise, I met great people, had fantastic teachers and coaches, and in the process have accomplished more than I imagined I ever would have.” In the fall Donnie will attend Moravian College to study Chemistry.

Both scholarships are supported by the annual Moyer Indoor Outdoor 5K event. The 15th Annual event will be held at Souderton’s Community Park, this year’s 5K Race is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8th. The race starts and ends near the Souderton Community Park entrance near Main Street. The festivities begin at 6 PM and end at 9 PM. Proceeds from the race benefit the Moyer Indoor Outdoor Souderton Area Cross Country Scholarship and Concert Sundaes in the park. For more information please visit www.emoyer.com.
