| Jim Church is Honored by Penn Suburban Chamber of Commerce for his Community Service |
On June 19th, the Penn Suburban Chamber of Commerce presented Moyer Public Relations Representative, Jim Church with their Annual Community Service Award. The Annual Awards Luncheon was held at the William Penn Inn and presented by Michael Owens, Executive Director, PSCC. “To get an award for something you thoroughly enjoy doing puts more meaning in the award,” said Jim. Jim has been an active member of the Chamber through his position at Moyer for over 10 years. His contributions include representing the company through ongoing functions, business card exchange events, and serving his community through activities such as the annual Community Reading Day. Bob Williamson, General Manager for Moyer said, “He has taken a sincere and ongoing interest in promoting relationships with the local community; we’re honored to have Jim working with us.” Jim commented on the Penn Suburban Community, “To see what a great area we live in – we’re blessed! It’s a community oriented area and Moyer encourages this involvement. It’s not work, it’s fun!” Serving his community, Jim has provided play-by-play commentary for more than 600 games in football, baseball and basketball, seven PIAA state finals and countless other showcase events. He has chaired the Montgomery County All-Star Football Game for 20 years and serves on the boards of the Montgomery County Coaches Hall of Fame and the Triangle Club of Montgomery County. For more than 30 years Jim has hosted a weekly radio talk show with local coaches and athletes. A member of the Souderton and North Penn Sports halls of fame, he is a 1950 graduate of Lansdale (now North Penn) High School, where he played three sports. Jim and Loretta, his wife of 54 years, have two sons, Greg and Doug, and two granddaughters
