Moyer Indoor | Outdoor® Announces Cross Country
Scholarship Recipients

Souderton, PA – June 17, 2010 – Moyer Indoor | Outdoor® announces the 2010 recipients of the Moyer Indoor Outdoor 5K Cross Country Scholarship, David Dusza and Taylor Young. Both students attend Souderton Area High School and are outstanding members of the Cross Country team.  
 
On June 17th the Souderton Area High School Cross Country Team was invited to the Moyer Indoor|Outdoor campus in Souderton for a pizza party. Bob Williamson, General Manager for Moyer Indoor|Outdoor, enjoyed dinner with the team and presented the company’s senior awards. “Moyer is always happy to support the local community and provide some local runners with a well deserved scholarship.” Williamson founded the Moyer 5k 16 years ago and every year he enjoys rewarding two hard workers of the Souderton Area High School Cross Country Team.

David Dusza has participated in Cross Country, Winter Track, and Spring Track for 4 years.  In his senior year, he was elected Captain of all three teams.  In Cross Country, he holds the 2nd fastest time in school history, and in Winter Track he was a state qualifier.  In Spring Track, he was part of the School Record DMR team and was selected to the all SOL Team.  David will attend and run for DeSales University where he plans to major in Education.

Taylor Young has been part of the Souderton High School Varsity Cross Country team since her sophomore year. She is a natural leader and was a great role model for the younger runners. Young has also made here presence felt off the course participating in a variety of school clubs and extracurricular activities including SAVE (Students Against Violating the Earth) and being a Salfid Dog Rescue Volunteer. Young will attend Penn State in the fall and major in Animal Science with a Pre-Vet emphasis.

Both scholarships are supported by the annual Moyer Indoor|Outdoor 5K event. The16th Annual 5k and 3rd Annual Fit Fest was held at the Souderton Community Park on Wednesday, July 7th along with the Fit Fest, held from 3:00 p.m. until the race began. Area health professionals were available and eager to provide information, tests, and hands-on education about blood pressure, bone density, heart health, and more. The Kids Fun Run took place at 6:30 pm, followed by the 5K Race and 2 mile fitness walk at 7:00 pm.
