In an impressive display of teamwork that included nearly every aspect of the company, Moyer & Son was involved in both the Lansdale Mardi Gras and the Souderton Christmas Parades. These events showcased the best of our company. Before the parade even started service technicians had the trucks sparkling, and during their busiest season the mill workers hand bagged over 4,600 wild bird food samples to hand out to 20,000 people in Lansdale and 3,000 people in Souderton. At both parades, the trucks were decorated with greens, ribbons, pigeons, stockings, and more. Keep in mind that for Lansdale this was the same day as the annual banquet. To hand out that many samples you literally need a small army and Terri Moyer got us that for the Mardi Gras Parade with 25 kids from the Souderton Mennonite Church. With the Souderton Parade I enlisted the help of the 4-H Timbertalk Trotters and had 20 kids and parents. In decorating the trucks, driving the trucks, and making sure that the bird seed got out to the crowd without losing any of the kids we had help from every part of the company. Between the two parades from Home Services we had Gary McMichael, Carlos Rodriquez, Art Landis and his son Dylan, Ed Cardell & his wife Jill, Tray’s 2 daughters Lexi & Ashaunte, Jeremy Weaver in PAF, Susan Parker in PAF, Sheri Senior from the Store, my wife Nicole and my 6 month old James dressed up as a penguin because it was COLD! Ed was even nice enough to drive Sheri and I from the end of the parade back to my car at the start of the parade route because Sheri had locked the keys to her car in my car. The holidays always brings out the best in everyone, and in this case it was no exception – while people may think of shiny beads in New Orleans for Mardi Gras we were strutting our stuff with bird seed in Lansdale.
