I want to extend a personal thank you to everyone who helped out with the events of the Univest Grand Prix weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday races where attended by record crowds. Through your efforts we raised over $3,500 in proceeds to benefit Indian Creek Foundation. Thanks to Terri Moyer for coordinating the food sales, to Amy Wilfert for setting schedules, to Art Landis who also gave up his entire Sunday to help out (along with Carolyn French and Chris Warren), to Dan Wile,his son Erin, Bruce Landis, and Russ Landis for strong backs in the morning, to Lori Gerhart for fitting all that stuff in her car, to Denise Weida, Julie Freed, and Suzanne Berninger for bringing their children (they are more help than you can imagine), and to Dawn McDonald, Faith Berringer and June Baker, on their indoctrination to hot dog sales to everyone (and their spouses) who sold raffle tickets - especially the team leaders, Janet Gowa, Erin Crew, Amy, and Art. Let's not forget Jim Church, who single handedly sold 475 raffle tickets and cooked dogs for two hours.
We sold 380 dogs, 300 soft pretzels, 288 beverages, 8 dozen donuts, and 2809 raffle tickets this year.
The success of this type of event is hinged on the involvement of all of you. It speaks clearly of several Core Values - Teamwork and Collaboration, A Positive Workplace, and Serving Our Community. I hope I can count on each of again next year. It is a lot of fun for me.
