On Saturday September 22, 2007, 90 members of the Pennridge Chamber of Commerce and guests arrived at the Indian Valley Country Club for the Chamber of Commerce Annual Autumn Gala. Every fall the Chamber acknowledges a local resident or business involved with community arts events or that displays an inert talent for creative expression. This year's Pennridge Arts Award receiver was Jim Church of Moyer & Son Inc. A variety of awards were presented to individuals, businesses and associations that serve the community. Jim Church, Moyer & Son Community Relations Representative, was honored for his 40 years of skillful sports radiocasting and commentary with WNPV radio talk show as a host and sports announcer. Chris Fickes, Autumn Galla emcee and fellow sports announcer presented Church with this year’s Arts Award. Upon receiving his award, Church said, “ This award is a great honor. I thank the Chamber for their continued activity and promoting of the arts throughout our community, and my loving family for all their support and understanding. For years it has been my hobby to announce and commentate. I have been to some great games, seen some amazing things happen, and have loved every minute of it. I never thought that one day I would be honored for doing something I love. This is very special to me. Thank you again.” For the past ten years, Church has been a representative for Moyer & Son’s numerous events within the community supporting local artists and art exhibits. He has presented “Best of Show” at the North Penn Alliance Members exhibit for the past ten years, has annually presented the Moyer & Son donation to Concert Sundaes, and just recently presented this year’s “Best of Show” award to Karen Benco, for the Sellersville Gallery of the Arts show.
