On March 6, 2007, Moyer & Son had two representatives participate in the Sixth Annual Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce “Let’s Do Lunch” program. The event is designed to have speakers from a wide variety of occupations attend fifth grade classes throughout the Souderton Area. These guests share career qualifications and experiences with the children.

As a sponsor, Moyer & Son bought pizza lunch for the students of two classes. In past years, our volunteers addressed careers in Marketing & Advertising and Information Technology. This year, we had two new players. Jonathan Harada from our Store presented to students at Oak Ridge Elementary on the career of Retail Store Management. Rumor has it that he smashed the record of “goodies given-away” - with beach balls, pens, pads, birdseed, and even toy binoculars. They are sure to ask him back.

Equally as entertaining was our own Jim Church, who at the last minute stepped into the slot of a cancelled speaker. Jim spoke to his Franconia Elementary class on the duties of a Moyer & Son Public Relations Representative. The kids in Jim’s class also got the added bonus of hearing about a career in Radio Sports-Casting.
