Moyer & Son is proud to be a major sponsor of an upcoming show at the James A Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pa from May 19th - September 2nd. The paintings of thirty-eight early 20th century Pennsylvania Artists will be on display in its largest gallery for the fourth and final stop of the shows tour - which began in February of 2006. This exhibit is the second of its kind, organized through the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts promoting the artists of our state. The first exhibit traveled to five museums in 2001-2002. Artists of the Commonwealth: Realism and Response in Pennsylvania Painting, 1900-1950 - celebrates the influence of academies and universities in cities like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh that served as training grounds for young artists, as well as the scenic beauty of counties like Lancaster and Bucks that helped to inspire artistic vision. This exhibit features paintings focusing on the common stylistic thread of realism in its many forms from the precise to impressionist. The collection is not-to-be missed. First time visitors of the Michener will enjoy this state of the art facility with many galleries and wonderful sculpture gardens. Its footprint is the restored County prison just opposite the Mercer Museum in Doylestown. We are pleased to announce that we have a limited number of complimentary Moyer & Son passes available for our customers. If you would like to attend the show as our guest, simply visit The Store at Moyer & Son, let us thank you for being a customer, and pick up your passes (limit - two per household). Please join us as we celebrate the arts in our community. Click here to visit the PA Painters release on the Michener Museum website.
