Recently, the North Montco Technical Career Center in Lansdale, PA hosted the Annual SkillsUSA Competition. SkillsUSA is a national organization that provides quality education experiences for students, thereby building and reinforcing self-confidence, work attitudes, communication skills, high ethical standards, and superior work skills amongst them.

John Haley III, Mechanical Operations Manager for Moyer & Son, Inc., and Bob Kulp, Plumbing Supervisor for Moyer & Son, Inc, were judges at the annual SkillsUSA Competition. Students from nine area technical schools were evaluated on their preparation for employment, excellence, & professionalism within a wide variety of occupational categories. John & Bob were amongst 150 judges at the event. Fittingly, they judged students within the HVAC & Plumbing categories.

“We had a great time with these students. Getting the right training and being prepared is vital to getting a job in this industry. I hope our time and feedback helped challenge and encourage them to continue to work hard and refine their skills as they prepare to enter the work force,” stated Haley.
