Tarah Isabella Races To Her Second Championship In Six Years.

Tarah has been racing Soap Box Derby cars since 1999 and has been sponsored and supported by Moyer & Son Inc. She started racing in the Stock Division and with the coaching of her father Tony, honed her skills and took first place in that division in 2002.

Because Soap Box Derby rules do not allow drivers to compete in a Division once they have championed it, Tarah moved up into the Super Stock Division. In 2003, her sister Courtney took the wheel and raced in the Stock Division, where she competed for the following three years.  2007 marks the final year that Tarah is eligible to compete in the Soap Box Derby because her eighteenth birthday is August 6, 2007.

On Saturday, June 2, 2007, in what very may well have been Tarah’s last race outing, she made twelve trips down the steep slope of Main St. Souderton, winning her six heats and finishing first in her division. She is only the second competitor in the past decade to have won both divisions.

Tarah, along with the other finalists of the day were honored and presented with their trophies at the post race banquet at the Franconia Heritage Restaurant. Tarah will move on to represent her club in Akron, Ohio on July 21st 2007.

“What an exciting time for Tarah. She is a great competitor and a wonderful champion –we wish her well in Akron,” stated John Moyer, President of Moyer & Son, Inc.

Tarah will graduate from North Penn High School this Spring and following her summer of racing and working, is looking forward to attending Philadelphia College where she plans on studying Biology.

Quentin Williams Makes his Souderton Debut in the Stock Division

For the first time, Quentin Williams, son of Dennis Williams, a truck driver with Moyer & Son, Pet & Animal Feeds, participated in the Souderton Soap Box Derby. He competed in a Stock Division car sponsored by Moyer & Son, which he and his father built.

Quentin and Dennis have been attending races and meetings since the spring of 2006, and have become active members of the Souderton Area Soap Box Derby Association. On Saturday June 2nd, Quentin raced six times down Main St. Souderton, winning three of his runs.

“We are proud of Quentin and Dennis, who have stepped up to make sure that we continue to be well represented in this traditional Souderton event,” stated John Moyer.
