Moyer & Son reached out to its oil heat customers in early fall to gauge their interest in an ever-growing market of alternative heating oils. Due to a overwhelmingly positive response, Moyer & Son is proud to be among one of the first companies in the nation to deliver clean-burning, domestically produced BioHeat.

“One of the big benefits of utilizing this alternative fuel is that it can be used in heating oil systems without requiring any alterations,” stated Bob Williamson, Home Services General Manager. “It can burn as a pure fuel or it can be blended with heating oil at any percentage. We are blending 3% pure soybean fuel, and 97% heating oil,” stated Williamson.

The benefits customers will receive from using a 3% pure soybean fuel in their heating oil include lower emissions of Nitrous Oxides and Sulfur Dioxide, and because it is a natural solvent, their heating oil system will run cleaner and more efficiently.

“All of our oil burner technicians, drivers, and customer service representatives are trained on the use and handling of BioHeat,” stated Williamson. Energized oil driver, John Harrison stated, “ I am pretty excited to be on the cutting-edge with a renewable energy that is good for both the economy and our customers”.
